Vegas is a Scottish Warmblood Gelding born in 2002 and is by Quarnak de Longpre (International Showjumper) who is out of the great Voltaire, We bought our Vegas as a 2 year old dark bay, standing at 16.2hh in July of 2004 from Scotland. Now standing at over 17.3hh
We didn't really have to do too much with him as he was the most loving horse you had ever seen, we really just had to get him used to travelling, as when we got him he had NEVER been in a trailer or a horse box and bless him he was petrified, we hadn't even left the breeders yard for what he had Jumped the breast bar in the trailer, when we went to see if he was alright he buried his head in our friend's chest, even though he was scared he still trusted us to keep him safe and to let him know that it is ok to be scared as we will always be there to help him.
Now 6 years old and standing over 17.3hh (and very tall legs) and he is the softest loving horse you could ever meet. He loves the attention, he loves being around humans, he will follow you around the stable and wrap his head around you when you are trying to muck out his stable. He also will do this if you have a cup of tea in your hand, He has jumped 1m 40 loose and he just stepped over it with ease.
Vegas has started his showjumping career and will be taking it slowly as to not overface him.
He was bred for jumping with his mum cadi being grade C and his dad Quarnak de Longpre an international showjumper. His Sire is competing in america under a new owner Megan Moran, and is going up aginst Laura Kraut, McClain Ward, Lauren Hough, Molley Ash but to name a few. Vegas also has Voltaire, Calypso III, Galoubet, Furioso, Lord, Cor de le Bryre in his bloodline.
Quarnak de Longpre has been a veteran of International show jumping for almost a decade. Paired with Olympian Federico Sztyle, Quarnak successfully competed in Grand Prix competitions throughout Europe and the United States.Winning at top competitions from Hickstead to Wellington, Quarnak now is partnered with top amateur rider Meghan Moran Kraut. Quarnak was sired by the great stallion Voltaire, who's offsprings dominate International show jumping.

Vegas went to his first show at Brookhead riding club for a clear round and he got clear

Vegas came 4th in his first Jumping Class and he had a double clear at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre and qualified for the 2nd round for the 75cm Trailblazers in April next year.

Vegas came 4th again in his 2nd Jumping class and Qualified for the 2nd round 75cm Trailblazers in April 07 with another double clear at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre.
